Here’s the scoop of the summer: RE/MAX of Hot Springs Village is diving into nightly vacation rentals, offering a range of beautiful vacation homes and lake properties. And, no surprise, the water’s just fine!
When Clara Nicolosi and her husband Michael were looking for a place to relocate, they chose Hot Springs Village for a host of reasons, beginning with family. “One of Michael’s older brothers lived in Hot Springs Village and we visited often—there’s so much to do and get involved in here,” notes Clara, listing amenities from Hot Springs National Park and Magic Springs, to HSV’s many golf courses, lakes and trails. Having met in the 1980s while stationed as Coast Guard radio operators (the Nicolosi’s spoke via radio for months before meeting in person) they came to the Ouachita Mountains as many do… for a bit of happily ever after. Eventually, the Nicolosi’s moved to the Hot Springs Village, nestled within the Ouachita Mountains, for their own bit of “happily ever after”.
Clara is convinced that, “if we can get someone to visit Hot Springs Village, they’ll fall in love with the place. It’s one of the best-kept secrets.” For the past 15 years she has walked the talk as a full-time RE/MAX a broker/owner specializing in finding dream homes and long-term vacation rentals. “Since 2005, we’ve grown our long-term rental properties to 200,” she says. Now we’re offering nightly vacation rentals as well.
“It’s an added service at our location,” explains Clara. “Not all do this, but we saw a need. And, our software
From collaborative online platforms such as AirBnB and VRBO (Vacation Rentals by Owner), the venture creates inroads and drives interest to the community. Prospective real estate clients, vacationing families, nature lovers and anyone seeking warmth after the long winter make up a ready pool of HSV visitors and future residents. “We are at a growth point here,” muses Clara. “When the highway extension is completed, it will offer a straightaway to the gates and multiple access points. Plus, with our addition of Wynter Schmidt is our Nightly Rental Manager we are confident vacationers will be ‘At Home in Hot Springs Village’ when staying in one of our nightly rental properties.”
Hot Springs Village’s wide range of age demographics includes 900 children transported to area schools during the school term, with a variety of clubs and craft guilds, volunteerism and worship opportunities, plus longstanding recreational and cultural venues, all set against the Natural State’s backdrop of historic, unique natural beauty. “I see it as up-and-coming,” says Clara.
